stuck fuel filter
I went to change out my fuel filter yesterday and discovered that the Incredible Hulk must have tightened up the bottom connection on the fuel filter on last change out. I know which part turns and which way, that is not the problem; getting it to release is the problem. Anyone have any tricks to undo this connection without ruining the attached fuel line?

Did you try shooting with wd 40 and letting it sit? Also use a longer wrench for leverage. Good luck

Yeap, some monkey over torqued mine too. I guess idiot did no tbelieve in 1/4 turn past snug
![]() I used penetrating lube, tried again the next day and it popped. Had to use extra long wrenches for leverage.

+1 on the extra long wrenches and PB Blaster. Mine was insanely tight and impossible to budge with normal length wrenches.

Use two wrenches. One on each fitting. Stack the wrenches so that you can squeeze them together to get the fitting to loosen. Sometimes you have to fiddle with one or the other wrench to get the spacing just right. Then squeeze. It is the best way to get enough force and compensate for the torque by pulling in both directions at the same time so you don't twist the line. I may not have explained it well enough but that is how to do it. Does this make sense?

It is comforting to know that I'm not the only one that has faced this issue. If I had any inclination that this filter had been tightened to the point of crazy glued together I would have attempted to unseize it when I had the engine out but who is to know. I'll PB Blast it all week and try my luck again next weekend. I have a feeling replacing a broken fuel line in this location is not an easy task.

Where does this fuel pressure line (911.356.083.01) from the fuel filter on a 3.2 Carrera go to? I looked on the diagrams of the part and the line doesn't look very long. I see it couples with another line but where exactly?

Well from top it comes in from the hard fuel line then out the bottom via the coil covered flex fuel line then to the Fuel Pressure Regulator.

The coupling I'm referring to is the far left end of the red line. Where exactly does that attach to? What location? In the engine compartment or down in the tunnel? Is it accessable from the engine compartment?

i guess the real name for it is a flare nut wrench. i've always called them fitting wrenches, like for brass fittings.

Check out Yellow Garage on You Tube 911 fuel filter change. Use flares on all brass fittings, ie brakes, fuel ect.
