Why no love for me on this BBS?!

Can somebody answer my question about removing the rear heater blower? Can I take it out and leave it out for a while?

Mdrive,
Are you talking the one in the engine compartment? if so, yes, but you will need to plug the hole in the shroud. I believe I used a 4" rubber sewer cap with a hose clamp one time.
Hope this helps

MDrive, Do a search in the archives (see the buttons up in the top right corner). This topic has been discussed before. Cheers, Jim

Depending on the motor, you can plug the blower motor hole by using a plastic peanut butter lid and a big clamp. Worked for me

Yes, we love you. Yes, you can remove the blower motor and still drive the car. If you do this, you should plug the big plastic air scoop thing that is bolted to the big engine cooling fan housing. the other end is round and you can just take its normal hose clamp and use that to affix a sheet of plastic over the opening. This will direct more air over your cylinders, where it belongs and will prevent air moving in a loop between the cooling fan and the engine compartment. Since I removed my A/C, I took all that out and installed the early air handling system that does not involve a blower. Pics of the engine (complete with plastic sheet clamped to the left air scoop) can be seen in the recent thread called "Thanks and Smiles."

Of course, the obvious question is "why would you want to?"

The hole on my '80 SC is plugged using a cap from a spray paint can that is placed in the hole upside down and held in with a couple screws.

Thanky

Thanks for all the love.

I just want to pull it out temporarily to work on it and clean it up a bit. Will put it back later. I figured I would have to plug it to keep the air moving over the cylinders.

OK, well thanks again for all the posts.
