Good point, Mark!

What I want to know is ... does the furry dash ony come out on cold days?

Or maybe it is a reincarnated werewolf!

I wonder why they went with the accordian bumpers instead of a c2 turbo look Wow a whopping $3k invested in the body kit and labor... Some high school kid is gonna love it.

You guys are too harsh! The Chalon conversion was all the rage . . . in 1982. (I wonder if it comes with a Member's Only jacket in the trunk, and a Flock of Seagulls tape in the tape deck?)

This one is missing the Turbo tail...that would be the icing on the tombstone.

The data in the CD-type disc decodes easily into ASCII computer text as follows, using 8 bit binary:
*
"Beware the bearers of FALSE gifts & their BROKEN PROMISES. Much PAIN but still time. (Damaged Word). There is GOOD out there. We OPpose DECEPTION. Conduit CLOSING (BELL SOUND)”
*
The damaged word would appear to be intended as “BELIEVE”.

Didn't that one also come in frog-green? It needs a pair of pink plush dice hanging from the mirror and Phyllis Diller in the passenger seat! A real head turner.

Am I alone here?!?

It is the classic, understated elegance of Chalon at it's best.

Does that shifer have a u-joint in it somewhere, or is it just bent for greater sensitivity?

Yup, for any one who tried to keep up with it.
I think this would be a good place for a V8.
I imagine a huge, top banna wing and a nice orange stripe.
Throw in a full cage and its a very scary monster.

Sorry, I know it's not subtle or the least bit stylish, but heck I LIKE 935's too. Too much is never enough!

Egads! WWouldn't mind having his old worn out floormats though they would look great in my 912.

The only thing I don't care for is the color. Other than that it is a vast improvement over the fugly stock 914. Good start for a fast street demon, many posibilities.

The Chalon kit may not be everyone's tastes, but they were very popular. I don't know why onw would want their 914 too look like a 911, but to each their own. At least the car has it's motor in the right place and not hanging off the bumper like those ill handling 911s.

Yepper, .............................1982, I remember it well.

I had an acquaintance/friend/somewhat, I think, that had one of these. He owned a body shop in a little town west of here. I remember him talking about his Chalon. I remember it being sort of a steel gray. He wanted to get into business rebodieing 914's and totaled 911's. He had tried to get Folger kits also.

He later got into a motor/snake oil additive sales program.

Good luck,
David Duffield
