one in two out exhaust mod (cap one)
I tried to search this but couldn't find much. I recently bought an 87 Carrera with a nice stainless one in two out exhaust (must be an expensive one, beautiful welds etc). Some of you would love it but it was just too loud for my taste. I read where another owner had capped one side of his "two out" so I tried it. Capped the drivers side because it made the most difference. Reduced the sound significantly, and at least from driving it I can not sense a reduction in performance.
Is this an acceptable, safe for the engine thing to do? Have many others done this? Comments? Thanks |

It shouldn't hurt anything depending on the design of the muffler.
If you post a pic we might be able to tell you the manufacturer.

That is a M&K great muffler will last a lifetime. I have two of them and both are 2 in 2 out and I cap also for daily use and un-cap when I want to raise some hell ! Best of both worlds. In case you didn't know that muffler is made of 321SS vs. all others made of 304.......superior in every way.

I used to use a soup can.
Then I replaced the Flowmaster with a Magnaflow.
