I'm happy with them.
To Mike's comment on amp draw. You are looking at about 80% lower draw vs. stock bulbs. With the dash LEDs installed you are looking at a draw of just over 24 watts total vs 120 watts total with stock bulbs (tail/brake/turn signals and dash bulbs). So it gives your alternator a bit of a break.

Excellent customer service

Wanted to post how impressed I have been with Jake/ETarga's customer service. Have had some issues with the lighting of my gauges (not related to ETarga's bulbs) and Jake has been amazingly helpful and accommodating.

Tried his vintage bulbs which were great and definitely brighter than the stock bulbs but now have the bright white ones and I like those even more. They are brighter than the vintage and have a nice crisp white hue. No cheesy blue tinge to them. Crisp white like the gauges on my 991.

For anybody looking for dash LED's these are plug and play easy to install (except for getting to the back of the Tach, which is a pain). I don't know Jake, just a happy customer.

Kudos to Jake as we'll. I know a few on here have complained on the price point in comparison to eBay and other sites... I like to think when you order a specific made product and it shows up to your door in just 3 days, without issues and without concern of product support i.e. this thread THEN IT IS WORTH IT!... This is definitely a win... Thanks Jake I will post pics of my setup soon.

Insofar as I know, can find out, there are only 2 sources for decent BA7s LED bulbs....

ETarga and:

Order Now Porsche

My guess would be that Star-Leds from AUTO-HUB(.com) is ETarga's source.

The recipe for BA7S LED bulb's "secret sauce" is that you need a LED Die that can withstand close to 12 volts all on it's own, no current limiting resistor, or low wattage one, required

No real need for that, BA7S LED bulbs from any other source than ETarga or Auto-Hub(.com) can't hold a candle to these.

Well,...maybe DIY...

Wwest,

You must be bored and decided you need to pick on the scab that you can't seem to discredit, though not for a lack of trying for the past 2 years! Just can't seen to let go that a guy seem to have lots of satisfied customers and still looking to prove you are right and everyone else is stupid.

Why don't you do us a favor and shift your DIY wisdom to something other than LED lights.

I like supporting other Pelican members. As such, I bought a set of Etargas bright white, and like it a lot. I intended to take a side by side comparison of the lights with a set camera setting, but damnit if the install wasn't too easy and I just forged ahead and finished the job.

Got my bulbs for the '84 over the summer.....seems like a good time to support our fellow Pelican.

A little extra money for a hassle free experience with excellent results and customer service? Sign me up.....

They look amazing, waiting impatiently for a kit to change out the exterior lights including 3rd brake light?

Thanks ETarga,

Scott

I just ordered the vintage yellow ones. Will take pictures of the "before" later today and will note down the time, aperture and shutter speed settings so I can repeat.

ETARGA, Do you sell replacement bulbs by onsee, twosees? One of my bright whites flashes and I would like to replace it without buying a complete set. (I moved it to another gauge with the same result - grounds are good)

Also I bet many who have the bright whites would appreciate matching bulbs for the heater/fresh air controls so everything matches. Thanks

Have you adjusted the brightness to the max?

For reference, here is a shot with the stock bulbs at f3.5 and 1/5 shutter speed, ISO400. I did resize to 1024 and saved with medium JPEG...both pics.

Now here is eTarga's Vintage White, shot with the same speed and aperture and ISO. Now, for some reason the LEDs are captured as white, but they really are yellow, like the stock ones. Only a bit brighter. You can tell the difference in the pictures. To be honest, I cannot tell the difference but maybe because my eyes are starting to go bad. The photo does not accurately capture the color either. Maybe I should play with the white balance setting but I'm no pro.

Today's camera "film" picks up light far into the IR region, makes it hard to compare a picture taken with one with actual eyesight view.

UPDATE: Received a PM shortly after posting from ETarga informing me that my 2 year warranty was still in effect and that he would be sending me another LED very shortly at no cost. Now that is what I call customer service! What a class act.
