anyone has this problem?

I would like some input on this. I recently tried to detail the engine. I washed the engine with water and avoided the weber carburators/ the fan/alternator. The car started up with lots of white smoke and then the engine quit on me. The CDS unit whines normally and the engine does turn, but won't start. I replaced all the spark plugs. A couple of them look like they have moisture. Any recommendation would be appreciated.
John

Addendum,

I let the car sit over a week and replace the spark plug yesterday. Still won't start.

My guess would be the distributor cap has moisture in it.
Try drying it with a hair dryer or just wait until tomorrow- it will probably fire right up. Lots of white smoke means its burning a little water, must have got into the intake somehow.

First, if you got any water down the intake, you need to REMOVE it! Water in the cylinders is not good for engines (read expensive!) Pull the plugs and crank it over for 15-20 seconds. You need to check the cap for moisture too. Also make sure you have spark.
