Breather Hose Restrictor

I've found few threads about the restrictor in a breather hose that goes from intake duct to oil filler neck.

Don't think I ever run into a pic of how it is installed. I think I pushed back in the way it was in the old hose I'd taken out. I would like to request experts to validate. and hope this pic helps.

also, i saw a thread someone asking about the dimension of the restrictor opening for possible reproduction or imitation. again, hope the pics below help.

my car is 84 but with 3.6.

I'm no expert, but I just installed the restrictor. I put the restrictor into the oil tank pipe, small hole toward oil tank, then pushed the hose on. This is on an 87 Carrera.

Correct. Small opening always faces the oil tank.

The search engine on PP is awesome, and so are the people on it!! .

Just pulled off my hose and saw the same thing! Before posting the same question I searched " breather restrictor", d**n that was easy.

Funny i was worried my breather tank inlet was a little undersized. Not anymore. That restrictor has a real small hole. Good news is no appreciable oil in the breather tank!

Thanks!
