Thumbs up Could it have been that simple?!!!!!

So thanks to schumicat, willhung, timmy2, brown747 and ivangene. After taking all of their advice, I found the new shift coupler bushings and followed ivangenes' video and replaced the completely missing bushings.
The car will now not roll in any gear (engine off) , and when I depress the clutch it rolls.

Could it have been this simple all the time and these blown bushings been acting like a blown clutch? If so the PO is going to be so pissed when he finds out.

T take it that you got a good deal because of the "blown clutch"?

A clutch can always be adjusted to clutch, which is all you need for shifting gears. You know it is worn when, despite adjustment, it slips even though it is fully released.

After watching your video I sent Ed a PM for him to watch it. I couldn't imagine how it could shift at all in that condition.
Glad you have it sorted out, Now make sure you fix everything else before taking it out on the open road to "drive it like you stole it".

If you only knew I dont kiss and tell but it was less than a PMO kit

Timmy2, When someone mentioned it being in stuck in neutral, that's the 1st thing to pop into my mind. The bushing was completely gone, not a trace of it, except on the tunnel floor.

The puzzle seems to fit now. PO was on a spirited drive and then the "clutch blew" and couldn't get any drive to the wheels. The bushing may have been failing and then just had a catastrophic failure during a shift, resulting in the tranny getting stuck in neutral.

I am going to grind off the muffler and cat bolts in the next few days and take both down. Getting a by-pass pipe made locally and will flush out the muffler with some heavy duty de-greaser. Can I play around in the neighbor hood with no cat and no muffler without hurting the motor?

LOL.... Add an F to the word Shift in your post... then it won't be starred out.

So many things could be read into that statement about a spirited drive with a **** causing problems for a driver I'm really holding back.....
