Fan for brake cooling

So I've been looking at using fans to drive air through the brake ducting. I found this
Porsche 911 Electric Supercharger Kits Porsche 911 Superchargers

Now as a supercharger I think this is snake oil, but if their claims of 3Bar pressure are even 50% accurate, that is one heck of a lot of air being moved through, and maybe this would actually be usable in brake cooling. Unfortunately they don't say anyting about how many CFM it actually moves.

Any thoughts on this use? I guess the big question is how many Bar would a duct at the front of the spoiler generate at say 100mph, if its less than 1.5bar then maybe this would work.

I think I saw one of these on display in our local auto parts store. It was setup on a stand to try out. It puts out a lot of air, a bit on the loud side. You might be able to rig up a low, med, high speed.

It say 3 psi not 3 bar, 3 bar would equal something like 45 psi

That blower requires some serious electrical energy to generate air flow.

Many racers use an inline bilge air evacuation pump to force air through brake and other cooling ducts. You can see a glimpse of one on the right end of the smaller brake rotor cooling duct hose.

However, if your racing regs permit, many of those same racers use a water mist cooling system as equipped on the larger brake duct, misting nozzles shown here:

loud is not really a problem on a race car... i may buy one and see what it does on one side vs the other.

I have a pair of small bilge pumps blowing onto the front rotors. Very effective. The PO installed these along with a boxster caliper set up. Search user J Smith, post refers to brake cooling for pics.

Cool Shirt makes the 3" and 4" style that you see most often in racing applications.

EDIT- meant to say bilge BLOWERS not bilge pumps. Although I could have used a bilge pump on the day we went to Lime Rock last year !!
