Economy RSR Finish Paint Suggestion
I've been surfing all of the Fuchs refinishing threads and can't find a specific recommendation on what the consensus is for the brushed silver finish in the center. I'm going to keep the lip polished (since the rest of the wheel is polished) and repaint the petals. They are pretty scuffed up now. For those of you that have done this, what paint is recommended for the brushed look inside of the wheel?
Here's a shot with the script photoshopped out. ![]() Thanks very much

I used rustoleum "aluminum" and then knocked off the shine with a brillow pad - it ended up looking pretty good.

I used Engine paint from advanced auto parts, silver color and a matte finish.

I'm going to use Rust-O-leum # 7777 satin black, Krylon 1403 dull aluminum with a satin clear. I got the black from Home Depot and O' Riley's so'ed the krylon.
The trick is going to be getting "sharp" tape lines. I did a test on a broken wheel that I had to see how it would look. I spent 20 min(bead blasting etc) doing about 1/2 of the wheel I liked the way that it looked. Also check out Economy RSR Fuchs finish ???

For sharp tape lines, go to an auto body supply store and get some Fine Line tape or similar. It's available in different widths, though all are quite narrow, and it's quite flexible to easily make your sharper corners. Just do the edges and fill in the rest with some masking tape.
Some have used electrical tape to do the same thing, but I find that it stretches and springs back, lifting off the wheel. Spend the five bucks for the proper tape. You won't be sorry.

Syz, I use the blue tape that used in bodyshops. There's a autobody jobber close to me I can get supplies.
