Question Correct order for 1973 multi-connectors (with diagram)

Hello all,

I'm still trying to figure out the correct order for the multi-connectors in the second picture. The parts manual picture I have attached for the 1973 shows the multi-connectors from the driver's door to the passenger door as, light switch (driver), emergency flasher switch (middle) and ignition switch (passenger). That leaves the blinker and wiper for the two upper connections (50-50 chance of getting that right!). Is this correct? Hopefully someone smarter than me can confirm the order or can send a digital picture of their connections so that I can confirm this order. When I get home from work I'm going to try again. I'll buy some more fuses on the way home!

My earlier post on this same subject is here:

PLEASE HELP! Light switch and underdash connectors

Thanks for any help.

Hi Dave,

This pic is upside down, right? The trunklid release (targa-style, with lock, nice!) is on the PORT side of the car, right?

No matter. To approach this problem you need to remove the fiber-board cover for the heater in the trunk, some 10mm screws hold it in. Then you should be able to crawl in the trunk and look at the wires that feed into the plugs on the trunk-side of the connectors.

#1 is easy, this is the six-pin cannon plug for the ignition switch.

Can't tell from the photos which is wiper switch, should be brown/white, black, black/purple, black/yellow, blue, red/white. That doesn't look like what's running to the plug in your #4. Given that the wiper switch is often replaced with a new one, might those be the colors of the wires in #2? That would account for the pristine-looking wire loom.

I'll crawl under my dash for you tomorrow and take a picture.
