Your Alma Mater? oh and a fan belt question

Its late and I'm distracting my self from studying for finals by ordering parts to install over winter break and checking up on all the new threads. My dorm room is covered with Porsche posters, and that got me thinking about college and Porsche's so...

I go to Lehigh University im studying computer engineering, I am a brother of the Psi Upsilon Fraternity, where did you all go to college, any one else here Greek as well.

Since this is the technical forum I feel obligated to post a tech question as well. Why is there both a 10in and 9.5 inch available fan belt for the SC's. I am running the 9.5 Porsche genuine right now, it works fine, im just wondering why the offer 2 sizes, the 9.5 was a little tough to get on but fits nice and snug.

Regards
Dave

Cant answer your fan belt question, but I currently am a Senior at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, majoring in Geography with a minor in Naval Science. my "fraternity" if it can even be called that is Naval ROTC - I'll commission as a 2nd Lt. in the USMC in May, attend The Basic School in Quantico, VA, and then head to Pensacola, FL for flight school (pilot slot guarantee contract )

San Diego State University grad here. TKE Fraternity, AFROTC grad as well. I was lucky enough to fly USAF F-16s. Be careful saying "guarantee" when it comes to the military. Remember, the needs of the Army/Navy/Air Force/Marines comes first. Look at 1991 when the Navy/Marines basically fired 300+ of their student pilots right in the middle of flight school just to reduce their numbers. Also, be extra careful at Basic School, get hurt there and flight school goes bye bye. Good luck, mil flying is a blast!!

Unfortunately the fire truck was taken from us by the school. After it stoped running some time in the late 80s they cut the tank open and made it a hot tub. The school was not so happy with that, they towed the truck. Apparently it sat on mountain top for a while then one day it just dissapeared.

Dave

Michigan State University, UCLA, Cal State L.A.
Early days at MSU (late 60's) was the day of $1000.00 speedsters and Alfa Guiliettas. During a demonstration I had to pull down students who stood on my Alfa Sprint. At Cal State, I lost the seats and radio out of my $3000.00 1969 911S when I parked the car in a free parking area on a hill overlooking the campus. That was early 70s.

Just came back to Michigan State and ran into friends from the old days who are still very much into sports cars. One retired prof still drives his 64 +4 Morgan. On e friend who played sax and headed up the jazz department is still remembered for his red Targa. We have become legend!

Rutgers University Class of '90 majored in Environmental Science, later also received an MS in Health Physics. I was a brother in Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, New Jersey Alpha Chapter while at RU.

A fellow Phi Delt brother of mine (pledge brother actually) recently gave me the '87 Carrera that I currently own. So, that's how I find myself in the P-car community...Brotherhood is a tremendous thing indeed!

University of Santa Clara ('73 - BS, '78 - MBA). While the school did not have fraternities, I still have some of the posters that hung on my dorm room walls - McQueen, Donahue, 512/917@ Monza...

University of GA, BS in Political Science,..MBA Mercer University,...EE at Tech....

NEVER (proudly) joined a frat...we had a rock and roll band during the college days and rode our Harleys....spent many an evening harassing the frat boys,..mostly stealing their women..(long time ago!)

As to fan belts,...never adjust 'em too tight!

Best!

true. I know that at least so far, they will completely honor it. in the event of a delay to flight school they may send me to infantry officers course (IOC) or a language school until a slot opens up, but so far from my knowledge they haven't just let anyone go to kill numbers as of late. our marine officer instructor is an experienced Harrier pilot and has kept us in the loop as best as he can.
