Question Okay, time to make a choice....

Okay, well trying to make up my mind as to the color of my car. The stock color has begun to grow on me.

My options are,
1. Make it Black.
2. Make it Yellow.
3. Make it Midnight blue
4. Leave it the hell alone and keep the stock color...

Looking for the input of my trusted brethern...

Here is the pic...

Yeah, it looks great as is! Those 993 cup wheels look sweet too. Did you have to use spacers?

Aside from being totally partial to yellow, it looks absolutely great in that color!

It does look clean, not exciting, clean. Is PD perception a consideration. Is " tough looking " an issue. I think the more you understand about " perception ", the more complicated the issue. Also is it original paint..Ron

Randy,
I have seen your car up close,(parts heaven swap) and really like the color, and I've never seen another car your color. I think you should have the tail color matched to your car's color.

Yellow would be nice though!(the sunlight in the pictures makes it look yellow). But ultimatley it comes down to what you like.

Okay,

Yes this is the original paint (you can see the ghost of the "Unleaded Fuel Only" decal by the filler door).

It is very tired paint, lots of chips.

It has some dings and minor dents that I want to get rid of.

So I must paint.

I too, have never seen this color on another 911, hence my hesitation at a color change.

well, as the former owner of that car, i know how randy feels. the paint itself is in good condition, but if i kept it i was going to change the color, too, even though almost everyone i asked said to leave it.

thought about black, but black on a 911 isn't the optimum color, imho.

yellow...no.

i was thinking of the factory silver color, and powdercoating the chrome black.

Tim,

All the chrome will be gone, Blacked out is the order of the day...(have replacements in hand)

But as you once said, the color kinda grows on you!

Intersting, but I don't get a second look from the boys in blue in this car, so that has a value.

Everyone seems to love the color, even the non Porschefiles out there.

If I keep it the same, (just respray) the cost is much reduced.

as a side note, the sport seats are in, and just upgraded the sound sytem to my standards (as a DJ for 8 years, pretty high!). But not obtrusive and no lost space...

Randy,

Do you know what that colour is called? It kinda looks like my car, but I'm not sure if it's the same. Mine's called Talbot Yellow. Telnetmanta has repainted his SC in the same colour and it looks fantastic!
