Fan strap decal

My engine is reassembled and ready to go in after top end renewal(amongst other things 'while it was out') and I got a new cad-plated strap but it did not have the 'engine family' decal as my old one did. I tried to find just the decal on the Pelican site, but I don't see one listed. I'd really like to find one. Any help would be appreciated.

Automotion has all the stickers that pertain to the P car and it's restoration. Good luck!

Wink THE ONLY STICKER YOU NEED

You can barely see it in this shot... but I think you can figure it out...

Oh, and no... the cool collar doesn't seem to do anything. Although it makes it real easy to remove a stubborn filter by hand.

Hey Leland - nice option for the SCWDP sticker! I tore mine apart and went with a similar look - black housing and polished strap and fan - lookin' good. I considered the SCWDP sticker but went with some black P O R S C H E stickers I had made.

83SC - if you cannot find the sticker you are looking for there are other options!

I think this is the one you are after. I've not attached it yet as I will eventually get around to cleaning up that fan!

Chris,

I think that is the one. It's a pretty tough one to find. I tried Stoddard's and Automotion - no luck. Maybe I'll get lucky and find one at Hershey.

Thanks,
Ed

How About A Closeup?

Hey Leland,

How about a closeup of that airbox decal? Is it some sort of reference to the occasional CIS airbox mishap? Gotta have a sense of humor about your car. All have their own little quirks.

Ed,
I got mine from an Official Porsche Centre. You could try there.

Performance Products might have the sticker, but they will charge you $7 in shipping just for the sticker. Trust me, arguing about this with a manager won't help

David,

I tried Performance but they don't have it. Happily, my local dealer was able to order one for me and I should have it by next week. Thanks to all for your help.

Ed

I did nothing to my fan strap during my rebuild except clean it up. It is a quite gorgeous example of cadmium, coating. Rainbow-ish. It has no sticker on it, or scratches, or any outline where a sticker might have been. I seriously doubt whether this fan strap ever had a sticker on it. The ugly "Shell" sticker is still on the air cleaner cover, so the PO would certainly not have remove the attractive sticker and left the ugly one on. What gives?

Hmm, thats a strange one Superman. Maybe, for some reason, the PO needed a new strap!?
