Marc, in your case it looks like a short in the tail light assembly. You see the the backing on the light sockets are lien to a PCB, a thin brittle plastic that over time and too much force will snap and as a result will short when the loose connection touches the housing. If you checked everything else, it may be time to look behind the assembly which requires you to remove it.

I fixed mine by gluing a piece of plastic onto mine to reinforce it, while I was in there I tightened up all the loose sockets, using a ratchet wrench extension and a hammer.

The front screw on the turn signal housing is causing the short-circuit; when I remove it, the light flashes properly... This means I have a short-circuit within the housing :confused: ???
