What is this clip under passenger seat for?
One more visual mystery:
What is the purpose of this clip? Clearly Porsche went out of their way to make it part of the floor pan. They must have had some function in mind. It's located between the passenger's knees, on the floorboard on the backside of the horizontal stiffener below the front of the passenger's seat. I'm guessing a GOOD (factory) set of floor mats would have a slot in them and hook on here so the passenger doesn't slide them around getting in and out. ? Which brings my next inquiry. This Targa wears loose pajamas. Every piece of carpet is brand new looking but fits like crap. I'm guessing PO had a shopping spree at JC Whitney. I'd hate to throw money at something that looks good from afar, but it's far from good! Tips? ![]() ![]() |

It's under my screen name, but here it is in my signature (tongue in cheek - but true nonetheless)... - Rich

There is one on both the passenger side and the driver side. They hold the front carpets in place.
Also, if you get some good aftermarket floor mats (ex: Lloyd's) they will hook to those clips, too.

if your carpet (not floor mats) is sliding around, a shot of glue should fix it. 3M makes a good product, do a search on the forums for interior re-dos.
I think you want the Orange foaming stuff, can't remember the exact stuff. You want to get the right product, though, due to the high interior temps the car experiences when parked in the sun in the summer. Good luck
