Super, AVS Intermediates are fine for street use and OK in the rain, but IMO one of the very best performance street tires that is also great in the rain is the Bridgestone S03. Twice the price of the discounted AVS Intermediate, but wow this tire is great! Just put 205/55-15s on my '72 S 6x15 Fuchs and autocrossed at Everett last weekend in vintage class under dry conditions - about 2.5 seconds out of TTOD. My guess is that my old AVS tires would be about 2 seconds slower than the S03s, probably alot slower in the rain.

Thanks, guys. The Yoko sounds like an excellent bargain, and I like what I read about them running a little wider than some other tires in the same size. On the other hand, my Michelins are fresh/new and it sounds like I can get an outstanding tire (S03) for less than the Michelins, when I need them next year.
