A good friend of mine is selling his '77 S and has elected to take off a few pieces of go-fast goodies prior to sale. He's offered me his Wilwood Superlites (big 'ole 4-piston thangs) and Carrera front rotors (with cracks, probably should be replaced) plus 2 practically new slotted rear rotors that will all bolt up to my SC. I've driven his car at two different tracks at DEs and the braking performance was impressive--no, make that amazing.
I already have track tires and various things to make the car go faster, but brake upgrades so far are Porterfield pads and Cool Brake kit. Is $300, plus my 4 practically new rotors and old front calipers the right price for this stuff?

If your state ever does inspections, you might want to check if the Wilwoods are DOT approved.

Those Wilwood's are actually designed for 1.25" thru 1.375" thick rotors, so you may want to put 32 mm turbo rotors up front so as not to over extend the pistons! The 24 mm Carrera rotors are too thin for safe use with Wilwood's, IMHO!

Yes, good point. Some of the more progressive states may check for that. Here in Florida, if your tag is up to date, your car is 'jes fine.

Wilwoods are a nice economical brake upgrade I think they are about $320 for the billet calipers now. They also came out with a 6 piston billet aluminum caliper for about $700 per pair...
They make a number of superlites to fit different disc diameters and thicknesses

The Wilwood original Superlite II i... only takes 1.25" thru 1.38" rotors!!!
The newer Superlite IIA are offered in several rotor thicknesses, including 20 mm, 25 mm, 32 mm and 35 mm. The new Superlite III is not available for 35 mm rotors, either!
