How to tell if 3.0 SC chain tensioners have upgraded with 3.2 Carrera tensioners?

I am sure there are previous posts on here about this but I cannot find them anywhere.

I want to check to see if my 3.0 SC has had the upgraded 3.2 Carrera chain tensioners fitted to the engine. Is there a quick and easy check that can be carried out to check for this?

I believe I have read in the past about checking for the oil feed pipes but cannot remember where these pipes should be located on the engine.

Thanks
Steve

Hi steve ,

The simple way is to see if there are hard oil lines going to the chain covers. They will have a banjo fitting on the face of the cover also.
Sorry no pics but it is easy to spot.

Cheers
Nick

The oil lines that indicate pressure fed tensioners are on the face of the chain box covers easily visible.

Thanks guys.

That was really helpful and like lindy 911 says is a very quick and easy way to check if they have been upgraded in the past.

I will check to see if my engine has the solid lines going to the covers in the morning.

Thanks again
Steve
