How to tell if 3.0 SC chain tensioners have upgraded with 3.2 Carrera tensioners?
I am sure there are previous posts on here about this but I cannot find them anywhere.
I want to check to see if my 3.0 SC has had the upgraded 3.2 Carrera chain tensioners fitted to the engine. Is there a quick and easy check that can be carried out to check for this? I believe I have read in the past about checking for the oil feed pipes but cannot remember where these pipes should be located on the engine. Thanks Steve

Hi steve ,
The simple way is to see if there are hard oil lines going to the chain covers. They will have a banjo fitting on the face of the cover also. Sorry no pics but it is easy to spot. Cheers Nick |

The oil lines that indicate pressure fed tensioners are on the face of the chain box covers easily visible.

Thanks guys.
![]() That was really helpful and like lindy 911 says is a very quick and easy way to check if they have been upgraded in the past. I will check to see if my engine has the solid lines going to the covers in the morning. Thanks again Steve
