Engine Stand Adapter Ring - Mount?
I bought an Engine Stand Adapter Ring years ago that I used successfully on several 914 engine rebuilds. I am doing some work on my 911 engine and cannot figure out how the SC motor mounts on the ring. Anybody out there who has used the ring? Curious if it worked out OK for you or if you would recommend the standard Porsche stand. Any pics of exactly how it mounts (or suggestions) would be appreciated.
Thanks! ![]()

Yes, I have it and used it successfully. It mounts on the 4, 5, 6 side of the case. The two large holes are for the transmission mounts. Mine fit perfectly. I'm not sure whar types of issues you are having. I can post some photos tomorrow if it would help. Let me know.

Pics would be helpful. I did not spend a lot of time testing how it would fit but many ways the HE's and exhaust seemed to interfere with the ring mounting flush. Now that I know it mounts on the 4-5-6 side I should be able to figure it out. Can you still replace the clutch using the ring?
Thx

This is probably the best picture I have of the ring. I would say no to the clutch replacement. In fact, I don't think there was clearance to remove the flywheel once the engine was mounted on the stand. You can see the engine is pretty close to the stand.
It's cheaper than a new five arm porsche adaptor, but there are a few compromises. ![]()
