911 exhaust

I'm ready to ad an exhaust to my 87 911 c. The car is stock except for the chip. There are 84k on the vehicle right now. I'd like a reasonable upgrade on the sound and performance end. Maybe just a cat back system?? I'm not sure. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Like Jeremy and Wayne mentioned ... you won't gain much with SSI's on a 3.2 except for a big hole in your wallet !

Cheers!

Benzboy,

I have the Fabspeed one in two out as well on my car and after three years i wouldn't replace it for anything else either.
Have a few buddies with "cheaper" exausts and you can't even carry a conversation above 3000 rpms in their cars ... Forget any long trips unless you take two Tylenols beforehand and wear ear plugs ... lol

Cheers !

why is that? I have a 3.0 and was thinking about SSI's and a 2 in 1 out expecting it would add a noticeable hp increase. Is the stock 3.2 exhaust that much better than a stock 3.0?

I had the same question - surely the SSI (or any non-crossover) exhaust is better than stock. Is the SSI simply too small to work better than stock with the 3.2 displacement? Because it sure works well on 3.0 motors. And in racing there are exhausts which work about equally as well on the 3.2 as on the 3.0.

Yes, Fabspeed premuffler!!! lol I have that and a muffler bypass, ie. no muffler. It does sound quite "healthy", but I really don't think it's all too loud. But that's just me and to each his own.

The feedback concerning Fabspeed is not always positive.

Particulary with the rsr set , headers + muffler 2/2 out.

Two set bought , two set with insolvables issues , and inexisting or ridiculous after sale .

For proove , i received after many discussions with my french distributor , a new pair of headers but with the SAME ISSUES THAN THE FIRST ONE .(heater ways out welded in the wrong way , leaks at the ports....)

Is that serious ???

All that Jay says is "i apologize"................

Me & my friend have been obliged finally to go with a Dansk set.

ride in as many cars as you can before you purchase nothing worse than spending all that money and you dont like it in the end. I have heard many many different exhaust most sound good some provide a bot more power some provide headaches with none fittment issues some fail prematurly do your homework.

CdriK,

You're always posting about the bad quality of the Fabspeed products and how lousy their customer support is ... you don't mention how long ago that was !

Sorry you were disappointed but i've had my system for over three years and everything was perfect, they sent me the wrong air filter box and i had another one by courrier at my door before i even had time to return the original unit to them !
I have Ben's euro "pre muffler" on my car and it's a real work of art ...
There are very good high quality exaust systems available nowadays

Cheers !

Love my SSI / M&K 2/1 combo and still enjoy stereo music sometimes.
