How to ? Rear quarter windows

How do you separate the glass from the metal frame.
I need to send the frames to rechrome, they are pitted with rust.
Is the glass glued in a certain way to the frames ?
There is a gasket between the glass and frame but how do you take it apart ?

Couple of cheese heads on the B pillar, and a couple of screws on the frame at the front upper and lower, on some internal L shaped brackets.

Over the years the seal can get rather hard, but it shouldn't be glued, but that doesn't mean that the PO didn't!

If they are showing pitting, you must have pre 69 as after that they were bright dipped alloy.

Hope that helps.

Tony

Thanks.
I had no problem with the complete window. What I cannot do is separate the glass from the frame. Supposedly it has a rubber gasket between the frame and the glass, but it looks like it has hardened tar.

It sounds as though you have the pop-outs? If so, there are two gaskets. First remove the outer one and underneath you will notice 4 screws in each corner. The screws hold the frame together. You will need to remove them in order to take the frame apart. These screws can be rusted and may need to be drilled out. If so, just drill the heads out to disassemble your frame. Then remove what's left of the screws from the two angle brackets within. Now you can replace the inner gasket.
Good luck!
