Hey Guys,
About 911 Rear TB Bushings, it might look like a wild ideas, but here that I was thinking to explore: - release the TB pressure, by supporting arm and removing 1 lower bolt then loose 3 remaining bolts such a way that TB adjustment stays (or replace one at the time on longer bolts for temp use), then - insert lube, then - re-tighten 4 bolts back, so this way I do not have to deal with readjustment of the TBs and spring plates... Also, I was getting an advise to drill holes for Zerk Fittings..... I am talking about plastic bushings... Thank you for your opinions. -Youri PS: I have NOT done this, just running through you, guys, and this is NOT MINE bushings (just pic for reference), mine looks more centered. ![]()

The issue I see is how do you lube the "inner" of the 2 bushings? I can sort of see how you'd get the cover at least partially off but there's no way that spring plate it going to be backed off any distance at all without disconnecting it from the end of the trailing arm and then you have to make sure the caster/camber adjustments are put back to where they were. I thought of this myself and then realized I was only getting lube to 1/2 of the problem.

1-ev,
Couple of things 1 You are not supposed to lube the bushings at all. 2 By doing what you are talking about, you will not be able to remove the torsion from the bars sufficiently to remove the cover..

Looks to me like the bushings need replaced. Is that metal to metal contact at the top?

If you have squeaky plastic bushings you are trying to remedy, fix them well by going to Elephant PB versions.

Yeah, Ed's right, I've tried all sorts of tricks and my "plastic" bushings are insanely noisy. Plan to switch them out but don't have the time or will to do that right now.

Don't need to go to the PB bushings, use the ER neatrix....the work a treat!!!

I don't think the ER economical bushings are Neatrix....aren't the rubber?
The PB are worth every penny, an excellent design. |

Put the rear on jack stands
Remove whatever you have to so the end of the spring plate is dangling in the air Measure the distance from the end of the spring plate to the floor Remove spring plate Lube / replace bushings Install and adjust until the measurement from the ground to the end of the spring plate is the same as the before measurement Install everything else Same principle can be used to adjust rear ride height. Every 1/2" difference in spring plate height to ground is about 1" difference in ride height (approx, I forget the exact ratio)
