1984 spark plug wires difference

Can somebody explain the specific difference of the '84 model year spark plug wire routing over that of '85-'89 and maybe their experience of using the later routing on an '84?
thanks,
Scott

If you go to change plug wires on an '84 you'll find it's not a whole lot of fun. I think they simplified the routing in '85 but you do need the '85 - '89 set, the lengths are different. The wire holders for the passenger side are not only different but attach differently as well. Everything appears to be the same on the driver's side.

I'm not sure what would be stopping you from routing them 1985 style..? You'll have a couple of small holes in the fan shroud left open.
