74" Widebody 911 Wheel offset

Hi Guys,

I've currently got a 74mdl 911 with flared front and widebody rear fenders.

I've currently got 3 peice simmons wheels ( australian ) I have two big spacers on each rear wheel and one spacer on each front wheel.

My question is how do i measure what offset I need as I want to get my wheels re-dished so i can get rid of the spaces or does anyone know of any model porsche wheels that will fit my car without needing spacers?

Thanks again guys

If you are happy w/ the current fit(appearance and widths) then you only need to know the current ET and the width of the spacers, new wheel ET = existing ET - spacer width

It's more complicated if you want wider wheels, if this is the case post the current configuration and any proposed change in widths or fit wrt the fenders

I have Carrera suspension and Turbo Flares

9 x 17 ET 17
9 x 11 ET -8

255/40/17 in the front 315/30/17 in the rear

Ideally I could probably go to 9x17 ET 12 in the front

Assuming Jeremy had all 911 suspension and no spacers if you want 8 & 10 to fiot like his 9ET17 & 11ET-8 you want
8ET4
10ET-21
withe these wheels you end up w/ ~ 1" more clearance on the inside than Jeremy has.

Alternatively you can use 8ET30 and either the 21mm spacer that used to be used on 930s or late 930 front hubs and brakes

Thanks Bill, now I just need to find the wheels I want with tires that will fit. Looks like the only good choice in tires is go to 17" wheels if I want to run 225's-245's in front and 295's-315's in the rear. Problem is neither Rota (Fuch replicas) or Minilite/Superlite offer 17x10s or larger that I can find. Not waiting for Zuffenhaus another 10 months after ordering ever again.

Why did you decide on those sizes? It's difficult to get decent OD sizing in 17
the only tires I found in those sizes are Kumho Ecsta XS
245/45 x17 on a 7.5-9" wheel 25.7"OD
315/35 x17 on a 10-11.5" wheel 25.7"OD (this is doable w/ a very torquey motor & stock 915 gearing but I wouldn't want to go any taller)

295/35 x17 on a a 10-11.5" wheel 25.1"OD is more manageable in back but then the front becomes a 225 or 235 to match heights

if you go to 18 you get a more favorably sized
245/40 x18 on a 8-9.5" wheel 25.4"OD or 245/35 on a 8-9.5" wheel 24.8"OD
315/30 x18 on a 10.5-11.5" wheel 25.5"OD

my point is be sure that the tires are available in the sizes that you want and that the ODs don't get too big for the drivetrain

One last thing, have you thought about Forgeline or Fikse 5 spokes?
