Best way to get power to guage

Hi All, Planning on adding a gauge or two. Just wondering the best way to hook up a gauge that would turn on when the ignition is on. Any particular circuit that is recommended? Thanks, Jeff

What year? What kind of gauge and are you replacing an existing one?

The car is a 76 930. I'm thinking about putting in a A/F ratio gauge and an intercooler temp gauge.

Are you going to hang it underneath the dash or use it replace the clock?

Running a fused line to the battery is one option. Use the clock power is another but it's powered all the time. The clock is on the same fuse as the interior lights.

Jumpering on the ciggie lighter is a 3rd option.

Joe Bob, I'm going to mount the gauges in a radio delete plate. I definitely need the gauges to power on and power off corresponding to the motor. Thanks, Jeff

My SC has a couple of unused fuses....that power up with the ignition. I'm not sure the 76 930 does. One was a fuse for the sunroof. I have a cab.

I think going to the fuse box is the right way of doing the job. I was just wondering if one circuit was prefered over another. On another note, if I were to scan an old decal, can duplicates be made or do you strictly do cut vinyl?
