Senna movie
The last scene in the movie about the life of Ayrton Senna has him driving away in a convertible 911 from the late 80s. The movie is really well done and worth watching.

I gained an appreciation for the tension between Prost and Senna.
Also liked when Senna says driving fast becomes subconscious. |

Great movie - saw it twice in the theatres (trouble with the sub-titles) and recently received the DVD as a present! I am old enough I have followed GP racing since the '70s and I knew the tension between JMB and Senna was really bad. After seeing the movie and reading up on it again there was some real tense moments!
The Brazilians are really passionate of there hero Senna!

Great movie and very cool to see the 911 shot at the end.
I was a HUGE Senna fan back in the day and woke up early to watch all of his races live when I could...including the day he was killed and it was tough to watch it again. Especially seeing the emotion of that weekend at Imola and Senna's trepidation to race after the earlier death that weekend. Bitter sweet story. Great documentary film for a true legend.

Imola
The US DVD won't be released until March, according to the official Senna Movie Facebook page. I keep asking! When I lived in Italy (Bologna), I'd visit my friend in Imola and we'd walk the track every weekend for exercise and then go to the piadina shop on the infield. I was there this past summer, and we ate at a pizzeria on the grounds; there were a bunch of Porsches doing track practice that evening, though I must say that the facilities look terrible due to lack of use. It was sad to see it like that.

Saw it last night on Netflix. That fateful weekend in Imola was hard to watch again. Alas, F1 safety has come a long, long way because of it.
RIP Ayrton.

i just watched it netflix. started watching again. what an incredible movie! i was hoping they would show more from the first time he drove an F1 car and his thoughts about it.
lots of great lines. prost- he did not want to just beat me, he wanted to humiliate me. i remember the batlles between senna and prost. whats funny is that until you see them all summed up, prost comes off looking like a prick: when senna was driving for toleman and he was second (in the rain and catching prost), prost wanted the race stopped (before he lost). when prost turned in early in japan and was asked about it, all he could say was how much he had won and how good of a driver he was. whats sad is that in his last race, you can see it in sennas face and body language, he did not want to drive the car that day, like he new something was going to happen. he truely was "the rain man"

The 911 at the end of the movie had Portuguese plates... I wonder what he was doing here.

Looking forward to see the Senna movie.
The Formula 1 cars nowadays looks so strange with that high front spoiler and tall and narrow rear spoiler. Also that wooden plank. No lets get the rear spoiler much wider and the front spoiler lower, get rid off the wooden plank so we can watch sparks fly when they race. I have a rtv channel that airs all of the F1 races live and now off season they are showing old races from the 80`s and early 90`s. Much more fun to see the sparks fly |

Senna movie
Ye indeed an incredible talent,
I was shocked to see at the end that Prost was the Trustee of the Senna Foundation?? |

Lovely photos mclmk8d - thanks for posting them.
I got to see the movie in a theater. The racing footage blew me away. Gave me a new appreciation for what it means to drive one of those cars at edge. |
