Brand new hinged map pockets and fixed pockets!
A relative of mine in Europe has recently found a shop that has BRAND new map pockets and fixed pockets for 69-73 early 911s. I am thinking about buying 10 sets and shipping them to US. Is there much interest in this type of item? These are brand new, 2 fixed pockets and 2 hinged. Not sure whether they are leather or vinyl, but they are complete with chrome trim.
What would be a good price for these??? The non-negotiated price I believe is about $1850.00 for the set of 4. There may be a volume discount...and I don't know what shipping would be. Any interest??? Last edited by RPMClassic; 04-13-2002 at 01:58 PM.. |

Jim,
I can get them cheaper in the U.S. right now. I don't think it will be worth your while unless you can get an enormous discount and then factor in customs and shipping back into the U.S. These are always in demand on the early cars, but not at those prices. Marc |

What do you think would be a great price for any of us that need them???? The last new set I saw sold for near 500 each individually and 1750 at PAP for a new set. Its tough to guage what a good value would be for those of us that need them. You mention having a good source..........whats your price?

Jim,
Someone was selling them on eBay a while back (may still be). I believe he is in the Bay Area. MUCH cheaper than those in EU. I might be able to find out who he is through a friend who, I believe, has contacted him. LMK by e-mail if you want me to look into it.

Jim,
Last time I checked (about two months ago) my price for all four pieces was around $1150. These were not remakes and in factory boxes. Marc P.S.: I will check to see if they are still available. A cheap price with no availability is as good as no price at all. |

Door pockets...
Jim... as a practical matter, do this. Ask your contact if he will sell you ONLY left side pull out pockets with the silver trim. There are plethoras of right side pockets and both side map pockets. The only ones that are " in demand" are left side pull pockets.
Most swaps have plenty of the ones people don't touch. Good Luck |

certainly sounds reasonable and much more cost effective. I wouldn't have thought of that....thanks.

I have to admit... I never thought about what "curtisaa" (good to see you) said. His points are very valid and worth looking into. If you look at Ebay right now, there are fixed pockets available in very nice shape for well under $100. I am lucky enough to have some of the other pockets laying around, but they are much harder to find in excellent condition.
