88-89 wiring diagram - Is the HAYNES manual any good

I am trying to install a complete 1988 wiring harness into my 1989 ( I was told there the same) . When the 1988 harness was removed, nothing was marked I am trying to use the Haynes manual, is it any good? On the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual its marked 1985. Is a 1988-89 harness the same as a 1985? I am really, really having a hard time identifying this harness. Would the factory wiring diagrams be more helpful? Where could I get better wiring diagrams than the HAYNES manual? Thanks for any suggestions.

I would definitely get something for your year. The Bentley should have it.

I think there are minor differences between the '85 and the '89, for one Porsche didn't realize how strong the pyromaniac tendencies of the Bosch fan motors were, but by '89 each one had a fuse right next to it. The factory service manual wiring diagrams are very good, see if you can get a hold of those. Chuck.H '89 TurboLookTarga, 336k miles

Here's a link for our '86. Great supplement. The '89 M/Y supplement is also available from this source. There is considerable similarity '86-'89. And here's another, this one is free. http://www.cannell.co.uk/Manuals.htm You may pm me as needed. Good luck, Gerry

Even though it's only in black & white, the Bentley was pretty accurate when I was tracing wires and putting in a new fuse panel.

I bought a great color laminated wiring diagram for my 79SC on ebay. Sort of a wiring for dummies like me who hate black and white !
