3.9L 964 RSR motors?

Does anyone know anything about this motor?



It is represented as a 3.9L 964 RSR motor that was raced in the European GT series in the early 1990s.

This picture isn't so hot, but the injection system doesn't look like any 964 motor I'm familiar with. Does anyone have any ideas?

Were 3.9L P&Cs/heads something that came from the factory, or something created from 3.8L parts?

Well this isn't going anywhere fast.

Apparently this is more aptly described as a 3.8 RS 964 motor punched out to 3.9L. Any info on that particular motor configuration? 300HP or thereabouts? Did it have this kind of induction system on it? Any thoughts on the induction?

If this is in the car that I think it is, give the owner a call. He is a very nice guy and could probably help with any information you seek.

Unless you have already talked to him and didn't find out what you were looking for.

I know the car, it should have a lot more than 300hp.

The intake is not a setup used on factory 964RSR
here is a correct 964RSR intake


the displacement is also wrong for a factory RSR, factory cars were all 102mm bore x 76.4mm strock 3.746Liter

If it's the red one in Co. it also has 993 bodywork

It may indeed have been raced in that configuration it's just not factory

Bill, thanks for the information and cool shot of the 964 RS intake / injection system. The car is not represented as being a factory 964 RS. So I guess the intakes and injection system on the car are probably one-off-ish.
