WEVO Engine Mount Install Pics

I bought a full set of WEVO Black engine and tranny mounts from our host and installed the engine mounts this afternoon. Thought you might like a look-see.

It was pretty straight forward...I followed the 101 Projects directions of one complete swap per side.

The WEVOs are gorgeous! Serious bling and good upgrade. Haven't taken her for a drive yet...will report later. I'll post when I do the tranny mounts next

Enjoy!

I did two Wevos and 2 Club Sport. Not quite as rigid but maybe better for the street. It made a difference in how my 915 trans shifted.

I love my WEVO mounts. In my experience, I don't think they add much more to NVH in the cockpit compared to worn out stock mounts. They definitely helped my 915 shift a little smoother. The only thing bad about WEVO parts is that you have to mount them in areas that people can't admire their beauty.

To install, is it just a matter of supporting the engine with a jack and unbolting/dropping in new mounts?

Is the handle poking out of the engine compartment just another floor jack supporting the forward portion on the engine?

Thanks
SoS

Same question, "To install, is it just a matter of supporting the engine with a jack and unbolting/dropping in new mounts?"

Also what was the symptom/problem that convinced you to replace the engine mounts?

I installed the Blue Pillow Wevo's last Summer in order to tighten up all the old rubber ends on my car and i didn't notice any more noise or vibrations ...
Turns out my 23 year old bushings were completely squashed so this was a good move !

Like the boys say, just support the engine and out with the old,in with the new

Cheers !

I think the handle is a makeshift hood prop. Make sure to fully support the weight of the drivetrain before taking out the old mounts.

hmmm, mine didn't have the black gasket looking thing. Neither did the old ones that came out.

I think that "black gasket" is a shadow. No gaskets in mine. The only issue in this project is the potential difficulty of removing the large center bolt in the OEM mounts. Use anti-seize in the new installation.

What's the difference between the blue and black versions?

Blue are less compliant, "stiffer".

The OP's first pix showed 4 pieces, but the "install" pix only showed 2.

Are there 2 or 4 per vehicle?

Also, what were the symptoms that motivated the install?

These are a great option to OEM mounts. You need four of them for the SC/Carrera cars. Two at the engine, the ones you can see the photos and two at the gearbox end.

I've been running blue pads for about 8 years. Great but I want to try the more complaint black pads next time I have my engine/gearbox out.

Worn engine/trans mounts can adversely affect shifting.

They look nice. I'm thinking of replacing mine. What's the best way / place to support the engine and then the trans. to do the swap.

This forum rocks.

Thanks in advance,

Support the engine with a jack and do just one side at a time. The mount you didn't remove will locate and support the engine while you have the other out.
