Post Show me your engines FINAL

Well at least five long weeks later, the engine is back in my car and running sweet. Thank you to all who assisted me and passed on photos or advice. I hope you enjoy the following photos

Mark, not quite as potent as "The Beast". 2.2E spec with webers, Mille Miglia exhaust, cam boxes and upper rocker covers re-finished in wrinkle effect paint. The project was more about getting my engine to run DRY and oil free. I got carried away detailing the engine and bay for looks. It's definitely turning heads now!

Fcop,
Whenever I see a 911 motor as nice as yours, out of the car, I think it's too bad most of it is hidden in the engine room.

LOVE eyeballing that engine! I applaud your choice of fan color. I know many prefer to go red with the fan, but your choice sets off the shroud red beautifully. My hearty congratulations.

Is that muffler one of those Aussie made Monty mufflers? And what headers are you using?

Thanks for the kind words guys (and music). Bill the exhaust is an Aussie made Milli Miglia, I'm assuming it's the same as the one available to you over there. The sound is terrific....I didn't realise how good a basically stock engine could sound once it's freed up. The headers are SSI with some heat resistant paint to "tart them up". Including the paint (2 pack), the whole project has only set me back about $2000 Aussie (that's $1000 greenbacks) so I'm really happy with the result, and proud to open the engine lid now!

Cheers

Ok, you showed me yours, now I'll show you mine.....

Notice that mine is installed in the "proper"
location, pointing the "proper" direction.

Er......it may be time to duck and cover.

Thumbs up

Hey Fishcop, at first it didn't look right. Then I stood on my head and realized I was looking at one really nice engine compartment with super clean and new motor. Now the trick is to keep it clean. Paul is correct about the fan color, looks great!

Doug...THANK YOU for the post of the Abarth with the 4 cammer. I just printed it. Have a long time pen pal who is anti-computer, so not on the web. He is, however, a 4 cammer nut! He'll love this. Maybe he'll be covinced that not all exits from the information highway go to garbage dumps? Again, thanks! Paul
