Rear window defroster...

I have a 1984 Targa and my rear window does not have a defroster. I found that these guys claim to make a universal defroster kit:

Frost Fighter 2600 Clear View Defrosters

Did anyone have experience with them?

I guess the Targa rear window is big enough for the application. What do you think?

Thanks.

I think unless it is a stock defroster glass rear window it will look bad.

I can't recommend a defrosting strip that may or may not exceed the temp that the glass can withstand - could be VERY wrong here, but always wondered about that on a cold day...

Replacing the Targa rear window is almost cost prohibitive. There is an excellent article on this 'board about how to do this, but my advice is to just live with what you have.

Sorry for the useless and negative advice, but truly I do feel you may end up in a world of poo going in either direction.

That's also my concern. Since the rear window is an aftermarket product, I also cannot be sure regarding the temp to withstand. I was also thinking to put a tint film to prevent direct contact of the resistor lines and the rear window..

Post a wanted ad in the classifieds, and do a search. There were people who couldn't give the rear targa windows away last summer!

Thanks for this info. Since I am in Turkey I have to check with the Customs procedures regarding car glass import. If somehow it is possible, then I will try my chance
