Ignition Plug with broken wires help? w/ pic
I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel before the engine goes in. A bosch plug has some frayed wires. This black plug has 1 brown and 1 red and white wires detached. Can this be fixed or must I replace it? If so what is it called and where can I get it? Also, what does this do?

That looks like the warm up regulator wire. Its in series thats why there is 2 wires of each color because its also going somewhere else too. Any Bosch garage should have the unit with a good pigtail, even new.

Great, I am hoping to hit one tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

This was a pretty easy fix. It appears this part is standard bosch as it also goes to a number of mercedes and BWMs. I found the part at a very reasonable price. I purchased 2 in case I screwed up the first time. Which of course, I did.
"Fuel Injector Repair Kit; Terminal Repair Kit For 2 Prong Bosch Injector Type Plug." It is not sold by Pelican. Hmm, after 2 failed attempts to put the company name, I realize Pelican must not let me put competitor names. Makes sense. Do a search on the name above or use the the part number 1287013003. The website I found them ended in AZ and only cost about $8. Be conservative with your wire cutters so you don;t have to rewire anything. Next time, I may have to go with one with pigtails. ![]() Cut off the bad wire, and trim back the black plastic wire cover. Don't forget to put the sleeve on! ![]() Attach metal clips. Be sure to clamp down hard. I first used simple pliers, but this didn't give it a firm grasp (thus having to do it a second time). The back part covers the plastic cover, the front part grabs the wire. ![]() Slide metal clips into adapter until you hear the two "clicks". Roll back sleeve and install. Woohoo! ![]()
