Koni Shock Question

I recently purchased a 1973 911 that has been highly modified. After a lot of work to get it on the road took it for a front end alignment and found that the strut (shock) is bad. It is a red Koni with the number 91134108010. My question is does this shock fit a Koni strut, a Boge or Bilstein? I searched the web buy couldn't find it.

Thanks for your help

What struts do you have? I have Boge struts and run the gas/hydraulic adjustable Koni. I don't think a Bilstein strut will take a Koni, but Koni would know best.

How can I tell what brand the strut is? Does it say somewhere on it?

Yes there should be an engraved lettering on it. Black housings are usually Boge, red Koni. What year is your car?

It is a 1973 but it has been highly modified as it was a race car for about 10 years. It has all updated suspension under it.

Often the colour will tell you - green or yellow=Bilstein, red=Koni, black=boge or sachs.

Thanks, I will get under it tomorrow to see what color they are. If they have been painted is there another way to tell?

Konis have a bulge just above the spindle collar, but the Boges also have one, but it is much smaller I believe.
