Anybody have a link to Excellence article on white lightweight SC featured...,

...a few months back? Or links to any other photo's/articles? I can't find my copy and need pics of the front bumper that was IROC style without the large center oil cooler opening. I think it was a one off piece.

Thanks...this is the car I'm referring to:

Those parts were made by DP in germany. For your budget, i would take a iroc narrow body version u got one of those right? ), cut the oil cooler out area of it, then make a splash mold off a stock valence to fill the cut out center area.
Milt can talk you thru how he's done fiberglass work

the 911SCRS was a wide body with a bumper/valence similar but obviously won't work

Thanks Dave. I acquired a new fg narrow IROC bumper/valance with the oil cooler box for a short hood. I like them on wide bodies but IMHO they look too front heavy on a narrow body. One exception is young Mr. Flieger's white car. I have not experienced overheatng problems with the fender oil cooler/fan but if I did I would likely go to second fender mount on the driver's side. In any event I think they are a bit poseur without the centermount cooler.

You know exactly what I was thinking...in addition to getting Milt's input, my best buddy has fabricated a lot of fg components for his experimental plane. So God willing and the creeks don't rise I'm gonna try to duplicate something similar to the white SC above.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Sounds like a sweet recipe Dueller. I went round and round on the IROC bumper look on my SC and concluded that it just does not look right without the flares.

Moot point, Dave as I'm not going with front flares. But I looked back at real SC/RS's and noticed 1) brake ducts are rectangular, not round and 2) it almost appears the front dam was made for a narrow front car with the ends lopped off and a black faddition added to meet up with the wider fenders. Maybe its just an optical illusion and it was a one piece bumper/valence and the ends were painted black. Or even a rubber turbo front lip socked on there. In any event it gives me a chance to post one of my favorite youtube vids (see what I'm talking about at .17 second mark)...crank up the volume!!!!

And some pics of a real one which I've admittedly never seen in person and please note I'm no Pcar historian...

Hi Jim,

The SCRS provided inspiration for my mods too as like you, I'm not keen on narrow bodied IROC style (esp without the front cooler).

I've fab'd my own front end starting with an aftermarket bumper/spoiler which I cut the bottom off and a tatty GRP replica SC valance of a race car. Go for it, and end up with something unique!

Mine ended up like this:

Edited to add another shot from Goodwood trackday last week, showing brake ducts better:

OK...I see what you mean. I couldn't get past the first page of the german DP website.

It was featured with a pretty comprehensive article in issue 179 (Dec. 2009) of Excellence. You can order a back issue here.

Excellence :: Back Issues

It was bare bones...lots of lexan/fiberglass, etc...even used 6&7x15 fuchs to save weight.
