So, there I was and changed the DME relay that had been bad. I go ahead and use my spare Kaehler to replace the original since '85 DME relay. Great car starts right up.....cool.
So then I says I says, why not go ahead and use that $50 gift certificate and put it towards an original Porsche DME relay. After all, it is the best! So, I comes home and change it this afternoon. Swapping the Kaehler for the Porsche original part. Uh oh.....she spins but no start. Ok I must not have plugged it in right? Nope, shes plugged in alright. Car spins but no start. Put the Kaehler back in....boom! Starts right up. Did the swap again just to make sure my feeble mind isn't f ing with me. Sure enough, the same. Hey, I even tried that POS URO brand, guess what, it worked too! Called the nice peoples at PP and the nice lady said she would have to look into it because it is an electrical part, maybe you didn't install it right. I said, it only goes in one way and my spares worked, the parts defective. I get a call saying that they ill send a label to ship it back and do an across the board swap. Heck, that's why I love PP so much. It's really all about customer service! Other businesses could learn something from Wayne's business model. Thanks PP!

It wouldn't hurt to open up the bad relay and reflow the solder joints. It might work well after. I even did it to the new one before I installed it.
