If it was me, I would remove the adapter and see if your horn stays off. At the base of the adapter is a spring loaded pin connected to the pigtail shown. The other end of pin runs against the horn contact in the steering wheel.
The hub is like this with the pin circled: ![]() The pin looks like this: ![]() The wire comes from the coil on the horn relay and connects to the stationary horn ring contactor in the steering wheel housing. When the ring is grounded, it sounds the horn. This thread may be helpful: https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/1158595-officially-confused-momo-horn-wiring.html

Horn used to work fine, then one day it would intermittent go off. The other day I hit the horn and and it stayed on. Cold it be the horns themselves.

Does your horn still blow with the brown wire hanging in space?

If you ground the brown wire, does the horn blow?

Have a look at your wire where circled to rule out the shiny spot behind it being a wear point.

Update. I took everything off and inspected the wires all look good, reinstalled everything and now it works. I took it all off again thinking I missed something, but I cannot see anything wrong. Horn works as it should. The white piece that carries the current is worn a little. Could that be at fault? Or the horn ring that rides against it. ?
Thanks for all the information of east to look for. |
