Wheels...... again please.

Ok, so I'm a little slow at understanding and even slower at finding the info here. So, can someone please inform me of what size wheels will fit on a 1973 911 narrow body car? (More precisely a 1973.5 Targa).
Currently I have 6 x 15 Cookie cutters and would be interested in 7 x 15 cookie cutters or fuch's. I assume that the only fuch's that work are the rare ''rs" wheels, but what about cookies?
What are the correct back spacing and offset values? Is there a diagram somewhere - visual learner!

Thank you!

Any 7 x15 ET23.3 Fuch or Cookie cutter will fit the same and can be used at either the front or rear or both of your '73

All the 7x15 Fuchs and Cookie cutters have the same 23.3mm ET

In the back it's advisable to use as short a tire as is possible. When I used 7x15ET23.3 Fuchs w/ 215/60 tires they would rub a couple of inches up into the fender on full compression, a shorter tire or stiffer suspension would have alleviated that issue

Yep. A 205/60 is a pretty easy fit.

So, as long as the offset is 23.3mm measured from the mounting surface to mid-dline of rim width it will fit.

Are all 7 x 15 cookies 23.3mm? or did they vary by year and application?

As per Bill V's responce, all 7 x 15 cookies are the same. I have a 73 like you and can fit 225/50's on mine BUT the lips are rolled, have a stiff set up and have maxed out the neg camber.

the later 6x16's will also fit with no problems, plus you are open to a larger tire selection. Bill K

To add, aren't spacers necessary with the 7x15s?

No! 7x15 is max width on a narrow-body 911. Any spacers would cause rubbing.

Spacers-depends on your setup. I run 205/50/15's with 7's on my stiff/lowered /-cambered 911 with 1\4 inch spacers in the front. I will be moving to 225's, no spacers at end of summer.

Spacers in front, maybe.

But talking about narrow bodied cars, the rear is the critical end.

I once decided to take my wife's 912E to an autocross on a rainy day. Since I race a 944, I thought I'd toss on the 225/50/15 rains on 15x7 Cookies on the 912 and have a hoot.

Wrong.

225s rubbed badly in the rear. Lots of room up front, but ended up not being able to use the rain tires on the narrow bodied car.

15x7 will work, but probably only with 205 wide tires. No spacers allowed.

Actually I think I was thinking 7Rs, maybe those are the 7x15 you need spacers with?
