Oil Change?

I changed my oil right before I stored the car for the winter and did not start it up at all (the car is covered). Do I need to change the oil again when I take it out next weekend? I'm using Brad Penn 20-50 non synthetic and it's around $6.00 a quart. I don't want to change it if it's not necessary. Thanks, Jon

Did you circulate the new oil in the system at all? Sounds like you drained the old and dropped in new and never started it. Next time warm the car up (with a drive) to circulate the old oil in the front oil cooler with the new Brad Penn.

I would not change it. If it sat three years I would

I agree with Bob, with the added caveat that I would make sure that my first drive was long enough to get the oil fully up to temp and then drive for at least 20 minutes after that. You want the oil to boil off any condensation that may have collected over the layup.

BP makes a non-synthetic 20W50??? does it say that on the label? I recall BP states partial synth...

+1 bring to temp and run another 20 minutes to burn off condensation.

oil change

Yes, I did drive the car for a couple of days after the oil change before in went into storage, but not much more than that. Thanks for the input, Jon

You are fine - the oil can sit in the warehouse in it plastic bottle, or it can sit in your engine. I would not say this if the oil was dirty and half life, but, that is not the situation. I would take it out for a nice long drive and have fun.
