Urk - help needed installing new turn signal switch

I made the most basic mistake: I removed a faulty turn signal switch from my 1982 911 SC and didn't make a diagram of the wiring. It seemed so simple . . .

Unfortunately it was a couple of months before I was able to get to installing the new one, and whatever memory I had of the old diagram is gone. There aren't that many loose wires, yet I cannot get everything to work, especially the turn signals, which I got to come on when the switch is pressed, but don't blink. I'm doubtful that the flasher assembly went bad coincidentally; much more likely it's me doing something wrong.

Here are the wires in question:

The two yellow wires come out of the turn signal harness, so I assume they don't connect to each other. The black and white wire with the green dots is from the harness as well, as is the light grey wire hanging from the top center. The two wires you see connected (grey on one side, black sheath on the other) were not connected when I went back to install the switch, so I'm not sure they're supposed to be.

My Scottish friends would call me a numpty for this. Any help would be appreciated! I've not been able to tell from the wiring diagram I have (Bentley) where everything goes.

I just replaced mine too. One of the yellow ones (I believe the one that comes from the "plug" side, NOT the switch side, goes to 56 on the headlight switch. The other yellow was not used. The black/white w/green dots was attached to a black wire that seemed by itself.

I will review my notes at home though and try to give you a better answer, if no one else responds.

Thanks, Peter! I'll go try that.

Edit: That was it! Thanks again, Peter.
