140 psi oil pressure
Hi All, my 1975 911s runs at 140 psi when cold and generally always high. I have not confirmed this with any other gauge. Is this possible? could this contribute to an bad oil leak at the #8 nose bearing?
thanks in advance |

At 140 psi you should have oil squirting out of every seam of the engine.
I would suggest checking the gauge wiring and verifying the true pressure with a different gauge.

If it is 120psi+ with another gauge then check for a stuck oil pressure relief valve.

My oil cooler was recently tested up to 75psi with no leaks, is that enough pressure? Thanks

It is a distinct possibility that your oil pressure sender does not match your gauge. I would check this out 1st.
Check the top of the pressure sender for the part number.................should be 911-606-111-02 for a 75, i believe regards, al

Thanks for the replies, I will purchase a basic accessory add on gauge and report back.
