Taking apart front seats?

Hi,

I took the front seats out of my 84 targa for a complete leatherique project (more on that later ) and I would like to take the seats apart now (separate the backrest from the bottom).

There is a flat screw on the side but it is impossible to move, what is the process?

Thanks!

I fashioned a makeshift screwdriver out of some steel plate that fit the slot snugly and some vice grips. Even my largest screwdriver was just deforming the slot.

I took my seat apart. Luckily I just needed to use a big fat screwdriver.
