Finally on track!! (pt. 2)
So I'm all stoked, get thru tech no problem. Sit in class for an hour. Get out on the track with my group for the first exercise. A slalom w/ 3 gates at the end, then a straight, a 180 deg. corner, full on the power, brake hard, then back in line. I line up around the 8th car back, man I can't wait for my turn. Four cars to go, three......push in the clutch....hm, that was a strange clunking sound. Let it out, push it back in....--Clunk-- ....pedal to the floor. Broken clutch cable. So I was on the track for all of about five minutes, and that was waiting in line. Oh well, limped it home and hoping for better next time.
There were some very nice cars there. A brand new Ferrari Marnello would take the high dollar car. A very nice Audi, some tricked out WRX's. A couple of BMW's and of course all the Hondas and Nissans. No sign of the Diablo that was supposedly coming. No glory OR fun today, but next time!! |

Ouch! What a lousy piece of luck. I've had days cut short by a brake light switch and a dead starter, but never that early.
I guess it gives the classroom stuff more time to sink in.
