Tires

I am going to purchase Kumho 712's for my '83 SC with stock Fuch's. What is the widest anyone has put on without having to roll the fender lips.
Thanks,
Bill

I think the widest you can safely go with 16" fuchs is 225 in the front with 8" 944 Turbo wheels. Get tires matched to your wheels 205's on 6", 225 on 7 or 8's and 245's on 9's. A too wide tire will put less tread on the road.

Tires

Just a little more information: The tires currently on are Yoko's -
205/55x16 - Front
225/50 x16 - Rear

What are the comparable sizes to put on with Kumho's? Thinking of the ECSTA 712.

Thanks,
Appreciate the help

Looks like I am going to get a killer deal on a pair of Kuhmo V712's. Only thing is they are 205-45-16. I figure they will mount on my 6x16" wheels on the front of my SC without any problems.
I have 205-50-26s on there now. Seems like the slightly lower profile wouldn't change very much. What do you think?
Is there any reason I shouldn't do this?

Bill-
I put the Kumho's on my '85 Targa with 16" Fuchs - used the same sizes as you've got on now - works great.
205/55x16 - Front
225/50 x16 - Rear

OK JP, you got me, again. The 26" wheels are for the upcoming Paris to Dakar rally :-)

Yeah, I meant 16".
