993 exhaust on early chassis with 993 engine?

Would it be possible to install 993 mufflers on an early chassis '76. I am currently running 993 headers.
I understand that the oil tank will have to be relocated, but i am planning to do that anyway.

Thanks

Almost certainly not. You need the wider 993 rear fenders or at least turbo fenders.

The 964 based 3.8RS w/ what are essentially 930 rear flares was the first to use the side mount mufflers.

Here are a few pics

If you are willing to do some custom work you could probably fab some some C/F, cans that would fit in the available space in SC/Carrera fenders

Forgot to mention that my car has rear turbo flares
It means that it might be possible, then?

Yes, the pics I posted are 964 3.8RS which essentially has 930 body. The bumbpers are the only real difference and of course the oil tank location.

Installing a 964 oil tank is a straightforward proposition

Bill

I tried to crack the 964 oil tank a long time ago, but I surrended before starting. Now, I am ready to try it again. Mostly because I received the quote for having the oil relocated to the front trunk and it is close to 3K (too much to spend on this).

I have started a new post for the 964 oil tank installation for which I have plenty of unknowns.

Please, if anybody can contribute with that visit my other post here 964 Oil tank into '76 w/ Turbo flares

Thanks
