A bunch of small projects done
Been doing a bunch of little projects on the car. One of the things I like about my older "toy" cars. I just say "toy" for lack of a better term and I have my Jeep as a DD.
Both plywood floorboards have been replaced with some I cut out of 1/8" Aluminum. The passenger side was not bad, but the driver side was delaminating. The new plate over there fits and works great. Got the windshield washers working. Bottle filter was clogged. Need a new hose that is up in the wheel well. Reverse lights stopped working shortly after I bought it, but are now working. One of the bullet ends had broken, so reheated it then cleaned it out and resoldered the wire. Did that for the other wire as well. Cruise control cable is fixed, the end near the throttle body snapped off. Used a clamp end and it fixed it right up. It is finally time to replace the tires that have been on my Targa since I bought it. The wheels will come off to get the new rubber placed on them. I am probably going refinish the black on the Fuchs, the lips are already polished. Still kicking the idea around of stripping and polishing the insides of the petals too. I got some aluminum valve stems to replace the rubber stems. They seem pretty nice, so those will go on with the tires as well. A few things, but there is still more on the list and more will probably be added as the "while I am in there..." is sure to strike. That and you all here at Pelican provide info and ideas. I don't know if there should be a "thanks" or a "curse" to Pelican and it's members.... More tinkering and money, but hey it keeps me busy. Thanks everyone.
