Angry Porsche oil leak

My 1969, 911, after driving has an oil leak from under the oil tank. The leak drops from directly under the tank. Some time a small amount, and some time the size of about six inches round.

It started after an oil change, but is not coming from the filter. It's a very slow leak. I will pull the tank next week, clean it up and check all connections. I did fill the tank to recommended amount.

Any ideas.

Thanks.

Since it started after an oil change, my guess would be that "new" crush washers were not used to seal the plug.

I am sure you tank needs reconditioning after so many years but a short term diagnosis would involve taking the car to a car wash. Use the high pressure hose to clean the gunk off the outside of the tank so you can spot any leaks, dry the tank thoroughly with a rag and then watch it to see where the oil appears. I suspect that Tidybuoy is correct about the crush washer, a 25 cent part. The other place the tank commonly leaks is at the oil level sender gasket, high up on the outside of the oil tank.

+1 on checking the washer on the drain plug. Make sure the plug is torqued correctly.

Did you switch to synthetic oil with this oil change?
