Introducing myself
Hallo everybody!
I would like to introduce myself. Even though I am a registered user since January, I've been until now only a "silent reader"(excuse me...). Needless to say that I've found tons of useful informations here... I live in Austria since 2007 and my car is a 1981 911 SC Targa schwarzmetallic. It is in my family since new (my father bought it). I'm trying to post a picture of it... |
when you post scroll down a bit and you will see "click here to upload" .. you can't do it from the quick post ...
O yea .. Hello ......... |
The pictures of my car
|
Welcome!
A very well cared for car! Is there any "history" ; it looks unmodified. Km? I'd like to see some epic pictures with the Austrian Alps in the background! Where are you based? |
nice ride. welcome aboard
|
The car is unmodified, 65000 km.Even the radio is original (Blaupunkt Bamberg QTS Super Arimat). It has spent the last 20 years in my father's garage in Italy and now I brought it to Austria where I live and where the temperatures are more suitable for such an old lady without air-conditioning.
I'm based in Salzburg, I'm a pharmacist. Here are again a couple of pictureshttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1334487617.jpghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1334487751.jpg |
Beautiful car. Looks like you found some friends in that last picture.
Welcome to Pelican. What have you done to it since you got it back on the road? |
new Carrera tensioners, new shifter bushing, new shift rod bushing, new fresh air blower motor, new steering wheel switches, new sunvisors, and much more...
|
Sweet 911 and back story!

Great looking car! That Linen interior really pops with the paint color. Seats hardly look like they have been sat in. Kudos to your dad. Welcome!

First rate Targa! And you get to drive it on some fantastic roads. Enjoy!
|
First rate first post...enjoy

Thanks for the post. I was in Austria for two weeks in January and only saw two Porsches, maybe they were hibernating. I went to a Porsche Automuseum in Gmünd and saw a lot of Porsches. We met Helmut Pfeifhofer's father who owns the museum. Hopefully, I'll come back in the summer and see more cars on the road.
Cheers, Paul |
Hi Metal Doc!
In Austria there are really a lot of old Porsches but they are driven normally from March-April until the end of September due to the wheather and road conditions. Oldtimers as the Austrians and Germans call vehicles that are 30 years old and older (youngtimers are vehicles at least 20 years old) are a widespread hobby here but in winter you won't see any of them. |
Wow .. nice looking Porsche .. I see you figured out the Pic Post .. very very nice ..
That is a very nice example .. love it ...Congrats .. enjoy ...SmileWavy |
Supercarerra, nice to have you join us here on PP BBS. your SC is truly beautiful a testament to the care your Dad and now you have given it. some of your pics even manage to capture the dark chocolate color that I like so much in my SC of the same color. Will be looking forward to more pic taken in your picturesque country.
Here is a shot of mine from the other side of the world. Cheers Richard http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1334559647.jpg |
Toller Targa, wirklich! Welches Jahr?

Welcome to the boards! Nice car. Always eager to welcome a fellow medical person to the cult that is Porshe.
|
Thanks for the appreciations! I hope not to bother you if I post some picture but...you know...I like to take photos too. Here is another view of the interior I'm very proud of...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1334594848.jpg

Welcome to the addiction! Must be nice to drive that beautiful car in a country such as yours! We had a pleasure of visiting there years ago. Good luck!

wow..that is the cleanest car. i just got done with working with a group of Austrians. amazing people. they always joked that they were the neatest and cleanest segment of our population. i guess you and dad subscribed to the same rules of car maintenance..stunning, buddy. those seats are spotless.
|
You are right, Austrians are very friendly people. I've been living here for a few years and I couldn't be happier! Friendly people, fantastic roads , stunning nature, no criminality...Really a little paradise!

Welcome to a fellow Austrian. ;)
Have fun on the roads back home & hope you can avoid the rain (I'm scarred by the memory of many rained out holidays in the Salkammergut) |
