Profuse White Smoke from tailpipe

After my mechanic installed new rocker tubes - ordered from Germany - my 82 / 911 sc 134,000 miles was supposedly good to go. Driving her locally I immediately noticed white smoke coming from the tailpipe on 2 occasions, a fair amount and never seen before (within same day). Brought her back to the mechanics to be checked out. He could find nothing wrong, nor could he get her to blow smoke from the tale pipe. I take her out the next day, 90 degree day on a 70 mile round trip and after one stop for gas i couldn't get her started. Got her started and hour later and drove home as i watched the oil pressure drop dramatically. Open the hood to find the oil cap hadn't been put back on oil intake. Oil all over engine. I put 5 qts back in and brought it back up on the dip stick to within normal range. Fired her up and since that day profuse amounts of white smoke are coming out of the tail pipe. Mechanic won't return calls.

Suggestions? I have cleaned the engine so I know it's not that ....

Checking oil on level ground, car running and fully warmed?

I'm sure you are, but just confirm to the forum that it's not overfilled and we'll go from there.

Also, oil pressure and oil level are not the same thing. You put oil in but did not mention if the pressure came back up. If my oil pressure dropped I would be getting a tow first then be asking questions later.

Clarification is needed.

your oil was probably overfilled. your 911 should be on level ground, your engine should be warmed up and running while you check the oil. Fill to the point between the hi and lo marks on the dipstick.

Your words, below, seem to indicate that you added 5 quarts of oil and then fired up the engine..........if that is the case...............you have added way too much oil!!!!

"I put 5 quarts back in and brought it back up on the dip stick to within normal range. Fired her up and since that day profuse amounts of white smoke are coming out of the tail pipe. "

regards,
al
